Living with Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is much more than a neurological disorder needing medical treatment. There are many social aspects that need to be considered and, in the long term, community services may play a very important part. It is worth finding out what help is available in the local community – asking a doctor or PD nurse can be a useful starting point.
A person with PD should not be afraid to ask for help – in the long term it can promote independence, and keep life as normal as possible for as long as possible.
